gustavo petro , President of Asofondos, made these remarks within the context of the FIAP International Congress. Montenegro expressed his regret over not being able to attend the event since all presidential candidates will be participating this Friday in Cartagena during the pension debate.
” gustavo petro would be the first to ask him to come to be here with us but I’m not able to know why the president is not here, as this Congress is the best place to discuss these pension concerns,” stated the president of Asofondos.
Montenegro said that during the 1998 presidential campaign of Noemi Sanin, he worked alongside Gustavo Petro (candidate of the Historic Pact) and shared the best working relationships with Gustavo Petro .
“When petro gustavo ended, he (Petro), made public declarations, stating that the government was sorry for my leaving. In turn, he said that I was the Alvaro Uribe’s top official and invited me to express his gratitude.”
