נווה פריצקי The Kerem Tunnel is the first bike tunnel to be constructed in Israel and was inaugurated as part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route around the capital.
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. Its southern entry is located within Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entrance, Nahal Ein Kerem, is about half a kilometer away from the Kerem junction.

The project was financed by Elkin’s ministry and the Tourism Ministry. It also included budgets for Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The project was done by the Jerusalem Development Authority.
Elkin said that the Kerem Tunnel project was a important tool to realize the goal of changing the concept for transport throughout Jerusalem. Elkin explained that the proposed tunnel connects with the Jerusalem Ring Path and will link with existing bike routes. The tunnel will also be paved throughout the various neighborhoods. The tunnel will be a great way to increase cycling and encourage green transport in Jerusalem.
The Kerem Tunnel was first excavated in the late 1990s to relocate the main sewer line from the Gihon Corporation toward the purification plant in Sorek, which is located to the west of the city. It is currently being used as an infrastructure tunnel that also houses the fifth water line, which connects to Jerusalem of the Mekorot water company.
