In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route that runs around the capital, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.
The tunnel links Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. Its southern entrance is located below Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance can be located in Nahal Ein Kerem.
On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Michael, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and hundreds of cyclists attended a ceremony to officially open the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.

The project was funded by the Elkin’s Ministry and the Tourism Ministry. It also included budgets for the Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The work was done by the Jerusalem Development Authority.
