The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, was constructed as a part of the 42-kilometer cycle route which runs through the capital.
The tunnel links Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. The southern entrance is in Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is just half a kilometer away from the Nahal Ein Kerem junction.
The 2.1-kilometer long tunnel was inaugurated on Thursday by Jerusalem and heritage minister Ze’evElkin and Mayor Moshe Lion. Avi Baleshnikov of Gihon the chairman of Gihon, and hundreds other cyclists were also present.
