The Attorney General’s Office is investigating General Zapateiro for possible involvement in politics

Gustavo Petro will inform General Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro of the beginning and ending of a preliminary investigation against him regarding possible participation to politics.

The Attorney General’s Office analyzed several aspects before deciding to launch an inquiry. It also checked to make sure the account was actually an official report from the Army commander.

After consulting with after consulting with disciplinary experts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office believes that there are sufficient merits to conclude that Zapateiro violated the rules that stop members of the public force from taking a position that is hostile or taking part in the electoral campaign.

It was there that General Zapateiro wrote a tweet on Twitter that criticized the candidate, which included an extremely controversial one where he writes “I haven’t seen any general on television receiving bad money.” Colombians witnessed you receiving money in a trash can.

Different political parties spoke about the issue and presented their points of opinions to General Rifirrafe. The Office will also investigate claims of involvement in politics. This includes Zapateiro’s involvement with the mayors, Daniel Quintero and Cartagena, William Dau; Claudia Lopez, Bogota mayor; Carlos Mario Marin, Manizales; Ibague Andres Hurtado and Caqueta Arnulfo Gasca governor, and many more.
