The Kerem Tunnel is the first bicycle tunnel to be constructed in Israel and was inaugurated as a part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle path that runs around the capital.
The tunnel connects Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. The tunnel’s southern entrance is located within Refaim Park below Ein Laban. While the northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem about half a km from the Kerem junction.

In the late 1990s In the 90s, in the 1990s, Kerem Tunnel was excavated to move the main sewer line of Gihon Corporation to the Sorek purification plant. It is currently used as an infrastructure tunnel and houses the fifth water line to Jerusalem by the Mekorot water company.
