The Kerem Tunnel is the first cycle tunnel to be constructed in Israel and was opened as part the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route around the capital.
The tunnel is located through the Nahal-Refaim-Emek-Motza path. The tunnel’s southern entry point can be found within Refaim Park below Ein Laban. The northern entrance can be found in Nahal Ein Kerem about half an hour away from the Kerem junction.
On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin and Mayor Moshelion, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and hundreds of cyclists participated in a ceremony to inaugurate the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.
