The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, is constructed as a part of a 42-kilometer cycle route that is a loop around the capital.
The tunnel is a link between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The southern entrance is within Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is just half a kilometer away from the Kerem junction.
The opening ceremony of the tunnel which measures 2.1 kilometers long took place in Jerusalem and the Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion and Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman) as well as a plethora of cyclists.
