The Kerem Tunnel is a great place to ride and hike.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s first cycle tunnel, was inaugurated as part of the Jerusalem Ring Path. This 42-kilometer cycle route is located around Jerusalem.
The tunnel is a link between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The tunnel’s southern entrance can be found within Refaim Park below Ein Laban. While the northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem about half one kilometer away from the Kerem junction.
On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Michael, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and hundreds of cyclists participated in a ceremony to officially open the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.

Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.
“The Kerem Tunnel project is the central instrument for achieving the goal to alter the notion of transportation in Jerusalem,” Elkin emphasized. “The tunnel, which is being constructed to connect to the Jerusalem Ring Path will join existing paths for bicycles and ones that are paved in its areas. It’s designed to promote biking within the city’s residents and to promote the green movement in Jerusalem.”
