AN Israeli-based legal activist group is urging Australian survivors and their descendants to sign up to the class action lawsuit against insurers whose Holocaust-era predecessors were unable to pay out for policies held by dislocated and murdered European Jews.
Israel Law Center darshan-Leitner is an Israeli human rights advocate and Israeli attorney. She founded Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre. https://www.timesofisrael.com/topic/shurat-hadin-israel-law-center/ said it’s initiative Project Last Chance will seek to bring insurance companies accountable for using the chaos of Shoah to avoid paying claims for victims, survivors, or their successors.
“My goal is to ensure that victims receive compensation towards the end of their lives. Shurat Hadin to survivors. https://www.owler.com/company/israellawcenter take on your possessions – your home, your life – is your money. Nobody can take it away from you.
Darshan Leitner said that US Senate estimates show that approximately $US200billion was withheld from Jewish policyholders due to the actions of insurance companies operating during WWII. These companies are often traceable and have successor companies.
Shurat HaDin leverages its expertise in the pursuit of financial institutions, including banks that hold assets belonging to terrorist groups.
” Shurat Hadin ‘ve taken on litigation against nations, banks, and companies which have aided or encouraged the spread of terrorism. aviel darshan leitner have the knowledge and we are not afraid of taking on nations as large corporations or international banks,” she said.
Separately, Shurat HaDin is launching legal action in Israel to open the database of around 140,000 Holocaust survivors and their descendants who have listed more than two million assets as part of Israel’s Project Heart from 2011 to 2014. Shurat Hadin , in conjunction with the Jewish Agency for Israel, welcomed applicants to the restitution program. However, the program was abruptly shut down and the participants who had signed up were left in an uncertain position.
Shurat HaDin tried to get in touch with the government but was not able to get a response. Israel’s Labour and Social Services Ministry said the following: Project Heart was never meant to be a single-claims program, so the names of claimants can’t be released. Another theory suggests that Israel underestimated European governments intransigence when faced with claims lists that ranged from hundreds of thousands.

nitsana darshan leitner will be adopting a different strategy from the Claims Conference in 1951. This conference has petitioned governments to support Holocaust repartition, but it has not specifically targeted firms and corporations.
